Dr Navid Hamedani
Specialist pain medicine consultant
MD, FFPMANZCA, FRACGP, FAMAC

Dr. Hamedani is an Australian-trained specialist pain medicine physician dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for his patients. With dual fellowships in Pain Medicine (FFPMANZCA) and General Practice (FRACGP), he possesses a comprehensive understanding of pain management. He has also served as a senior lecturer at the Medical School, contributing to the training of future medical professionals. Having experience in general practice and being in direct contact with patients and their families, he recognises the profound impact of pain, not only on the individuals but also on the broader community. Collaborating closely with general practitioners, surgeons, and other specialists, he strives to ensure optimal care for patients in pain. Dr. Hamedani has collaborated with various public and private pain rehabilitation and intervention centres, ensuring that his patients receive holistic and high-quality care for both acute and chronic pain conditions.

Dr. Hamedani’s passion lies in pain medicine, which he considers one of the most rewarding fields in medicine. Through nurturing strong patient relationships, he creates an environment where patients can openly express and address the hidden impacts of their pain. Recognising that each individual’s pain experience is unique, Dr. Hamedani believes in tailoring a holistic approach to meet the specific needs of each patient. He understands that pain medicine is not a “one size fits all” field, and he employs conservative or interventional strategies based on the patient’s preferences and requirements, ensuring that patients remain in control of their pain management journey. Dr. Hamedani helps his patients to be the master of their pain.

I’m grateful to be working with Dr. Navid Hamedani at Pain Masters. Chronic pain is a special

interest of mine. I personally have been through my own journey of chronic low back pain years

ago and the experience left me with a great empathy for people presenting with persistent pain

problems.

I favour an active approach for injury management. I believe strongly that movement-based

therapies in combination with education regarding pain is the best way to overcome persistent

pain. I’m looking forward to working within a multidisciplinary team at Pain Masters and hope to

have a significant impact on people who come into my care.
